A project by the NAU Office of Sustainability, in partnership with the Green Fund, is working on a project to post stickers that dissuade people from wasting paper towels in campus restrooms. The stickers read “These Come From Trees,” and are being posted in over 90 buildings on campus.
Project founder Andrew Nettels says he hopes to remind people of their environmental impact. While the stickers are implemented nationwide, Nettels is leading one of the first student implementations of the stickers, using student volunteers. One of the volunteers Holly Hansen says she thinks the stickers are an easy way to make a big impact.
Nettels say he hopes the project will expand past just NAU, and into the community. He is currently working with Flagstaff City Hall, local businesses, and statewide NAU campuses.
