School is back in session for NAU, but in a different way than ever before. A new program called NAUFlex now allows students to attend classes virtually, in person, or both. This is NAU’s solution to keeping students and faculty safe during COVID.
Dr. Jerome Mahaffey explains that the abrupt transition to the hybrid system was a surprise to students and faculty alike. He says that while online classes do present challenges to learning, it is getting easier as time passes.
Students are struggling with NAUFlex as well. Junior Rachel Dooley says it’s hard for her to be away from the classroom setting she’s used to.
It’s too early to tell what effect NAUFlex will have on student success. For now, the NAU community is just trying to stay safe and healthy.
