The soon-to-be completed Molly Blank Jewish Community Center suffered extensive damage, its walls defaced with what may be swastikas. The synagogue is closed and police are investigating whether the attack could be considered a hate crime.

Rabbi Doviep Shapiro with the Chabad of Flagstaff says the damage only makes the Jewish community stronger. He says this is the first such attack on a Flagstaff synagogue in at least 30 years.

In a Facebook post, Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans says "anti-semitism and hatred in any form" has no place in Northern Arizona, and she stands by the local Jewish Community.
