Domestic Violence Related Calls Decreasing in Flagstaff in Early 2021
- Updated
Domestic violence rates have been dropping so far this year in comparison to 2020, which saw
rising cases. Flagstaff Police spokesperson Charles Hernandez said 2020 was a long and tough year with quarantines raising tensions in homes and contributing to an increase in domestic disturbance calls.
In comparison, 2021 has so far seen a decrease thanks to increased enforcement of domestic violence and partnerships with local nonprofits that work to support victims and increase awareness of the
problem.
