August 8, 2014 -- NAZ Today's Margaret Langworthy features the Willow Bend Environment Education Center's Summer Saturdays, a program that will continue throughout August. The Center has introduced this program to educate kids about the natural world in their surrounding community.
AmeriCorps Outreach Assistnat Joe Zofrea explains that this program was created to bring more people into the center and to introduce Flagstaff families to Norther Arizona's unique plants, animals and cultures. Summer Saturdays feature a different theme each week with activities and crafts based accordingly. The upcoming topics include water, birds, and Native American artifacts. Summer Saturdays take places from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and are open to all families.
