More Rain for the Schultz Fire Area This Afternoon

FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today)– Another round of Monsoon showers and thunderstorms will affect the Schultz Fire burn area this afternoon.

The National Weather Service is warning of the threat of continued flooding during storms over the next week for the Doney Park and Timberline Estates areas.  Widespread showers and thunderstorms are affecting much of northern Arizona this afternoon.  Below is the Short Term Forecast issued for the Flagstaff area this afternoon:

.NOW...
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD ACROSS THE
FLAGSTAFF AREA FROM THE SOUTH...INCLUDING DONEY PARK AND THE SAN
FRANCISCO PEAKS...THROUGH 300 PM MST. VERY HEAVY RAIN IS
LIKELY WITH THESE STORMS...UP TO AN INCH AND HOUR. NORMALLY DRY
WASHES AND CREEKS MAY FILL WITH WATER DUE TO THE RAPID RUNOFF. IN
ADDITION TO HEAVY RAIN...EXPECT FREQUENT CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING.
