NAU Enrollment Increase
Enrollment for NAU continues to grow. For the fifth consecutive year Northern Arizona University has been breaking their own records for enrollment. This semester total enrollment is 25,224, verses last fall’s 23,600.
Total enrollment is not the only number continuing to rise. The number of NAU new international students are at an all time high. This year there are 376 new international students, verses last fall’s 219, making it a 74% increase. It is also the first time NAU has had over 800 international students.
Transfer students have increased a total of 20% this year, with 1,058 this semester verses the 880 students enrolled last fall.
All ethnicities are also seeing growth with a 50% increase in Hispanic, 22% increase in Native American, and a 33% increase in African American freshman and transfer students.
Senior vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, David Bousquet, attributes the rise in enrollment to the lock-in tuition price, the favorable faculty attention, and the sustainability initiatives.
