FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today)– The Blizzard Warning for Flagstaff has been allowed to expire by the National Weather Service.
High winds and heavy snowfall caused dangerous traveling conditions on area roadways. The NWS and DPS say that travel should be limited due to icy and snow-packed road conditions.

“The City of Williams and the Williams Ranger District will host a community meeting to discuss the Twin Fire on Thursday Oct. 8, 2009 at the Williams Elementary/Middle School from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend to hear more information about the Twin Fire.”

FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today)– Gusty winds have spread smoke southward from a prescribed burn near Flagstaff. The burn is the Woody Ridge broadcast burn, located near US 180 and Snowbowl Road.
Forest Service spokesman Brady Smith says that officials decided to conduct the burn today in hopes that the wind would carry the smoke away from Flagstaff.
