			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Supporters of a cityhood effort for the tiny town at the gateway to the Grand Canyon&#8217;s South Rim are pouring thousands of dollars per voter into the effort.</p>
<p>Tusayan (TU&#8217;-say-ohn) has only 244 registered voters, yet Coconino County records show a group supporting the cityhood vote on March 9 has spent nearly $350,000 on the election. That&#8217;s more than $1,400 per voter.</p>
<p>A group opposing cityhood has spent about $26,000, which works out to $107 per voter.</p>
<p>The group supporting cityhood is called Grand Canyon Exchange. Arizona Secretary of State records show the entity is a general partner of Canyon Forest Village II Corp.</p>
<p>Canyon Forest Village was the name for a large housing and retail complex previously approved by Coconino County supervisors but rejected by Coconino County voters.</p>
<p>The opposition group is called Red Feather Lodge, the name of a local hotel.</p>
