SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — The Texas Rangers say utility infielder Khalil Greene will not be joining the team because of an undisclosed private matter.

Labor Day DUI Task Force Nets 940-Plus Arrests
PHOENIX (AP) — A task force targeting drunken drivers has netted 949 arrests since Aug. 21. The statewide task force Labor Day enforcement ends Monday.
The task force, in a news release Sunday, says 315 people face extreme driving-under-the-influence charges, meaning they had a blood-alcohol content above 0.15.

Plane Crash at Prescott Airport; Fatalities Reported
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP)— Authorities say a small plane crashed Monday afternoon near the Prescott Municipal Airport after it developed problems soon after takeoff, killing both people aboard.
A spokesman for the Prescott Fire Department confirmed the fatalities.

Officials: Six Pilots Violate Air Space Rules
PHOENIX (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration says six pilots violated restricted air space rules Sunday during President Barack Obama’s visit to Phoenix.

Arizona Approves Road Work Using Stimulus Funding
The Arizona Transportation Board has given the go ahead to use federal stimulus money for highway projects in Maricopa and Pima counties.
One half of the $350 million stimulus has been allocated to the highway projects.
