February 13, 2014 - NAZ Today reporter Kaleigh Emery has the latest updates on the IceJacks hockey team. The IceJacks' DII team is Boston bound for national championships during sting break. The team came in second place in their division and received a first week bye for the championships. Since the IceJacks are a club team, they need a little extra help to get to Boston. Any donations or sponsors can go to the IceJacks website.
Last weekend the IceJacks DII team played against the Coyote Alums. The Coyote Alums are retired NHL players that graduated from NAU and previously played for the Phoenix Coyotes. The IceJacks lost to the Coyote Alums 11-9. Although the DII team lost, it was a fun time had by all.
This weekend the Ice Jacks are on the road for the WCHC regionals in Southern California on Friday and Saturday to play Cal State Fullerton on Friday, and then the winner of the Long Beach State versus LMU game. The DIII Ice Jacks are at home this weekend to play ASU before they head to regionals in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is the DIII last game of the season
