Records are shattered by NAU Track and Field's Brooke Andersen, making the best of her senior campaign and ranked number two in the world. With a 74.2 meter throw over the weekend, Andersen now holds the 2nd best mark in U.S. Track and Field history for the 'hammer throw.'

Andersen says the technique is to push the ball, but NAZ Today's Peter Kersting soon learned to doubt that any luck was involved in this challenging throw. NAU Throwing Coach Nathan Ott says that the tough throw is no match for a motivated and talented athlete like Andersen.

Now at the end of her senior season, Andersen has hopes to get training started for the 2020 Olympics but also has her sights set out for a professional career down the road using her degree from NAU in a field like Marine or Forest Conservation.
