Tonight sports reporter Jasmine Navarrete caught up with the Flagstaff girl’s volleyball team. The Eagles are currently undefeated with a record of 7-0.
Despite losing junior outside hitter, Gracelyn Nez to an ankle injury the team is holding it down. Senior outside hitter Ainsly Thomas said the adjustment was hard at first, but the team’s chemistry keeps them competing at a high level at all times.
Another team, who has outstanding chemistry, is the Northland Preparatory Academy girl’s soccer program. Co-head coaches Michael Blair and Keith Hovis have been friends for years and that friendship has rubbed off on their daughters, Kiarra Hovis and Mia Blair, who are both senior strikers for the team. This unique dynamic plays a vital role in the team's success as the Spartans hope to get their fifth championship title.
