This week's athlete of the week is a star soccer player from Northland Preparatory Academy. Sophomore Ellie Karren made her mark last year when she put up a hat trick in the state championship game. That achievement earned the then freshman recognition as the star offensive athlete of the game, but Karren sees herself more as a team player than a star.

Karren says the hardest thing about soccer is pushing yourself to succeed, but here inspiration comes from teammates. Everyone has a role she says.

Michael Blair, NPA head coach, says Karren's understanding of the game is one of her biggest strengths. That said, he still wouldn't mind another hat trick in the state championship.
