Trauma Yoga is a class that gives victims of traumatic events a new way to cope. Its focus is on giving them a better sense of self-worth through self-care. Trauma Sensitive Yoga Instructor, Jan Rominger, says yoga and any other forms of movement help release the trauma that stays in a body after a traumatic event.

This class is a safe place to let go of emotions. The head of the Victim Witness Services, Jennifer Runge, says she refers victims to the class to help them regain control in a guided way. Trauma Yoga Student, Laura Giacobbe, says Trauma Yoga has improved her mindset and outlook on life.
