Flagstaff Medical Center launched a new volunteer program called Compassionate Companions. Volunteers build relationships with patients who may not have a solid support system or frequent visitors.
Nursing student, Nicole Zygadlo, is part of this new program. She says some patients could use a friend, and Compassionate Companions can help. In order to volunteer, you must be 18 years or older, pass a background check and attend a one-time orientation.
Humphreys Unit Clinic Manager, Dylan Moore, says volunteers' scheduling is flexible. Anyone interested in participating should contact Flagstaff Medical Center or call 928-779-3366.
