A group called "Rita Resign" is calling for NAU President Rita Cheng to step down. This comes after a state audit flagged $40,000 of Cheng's travel expenses due to a lack of proper documentation. However, Calli Jones, one of the original seven drafters of the Rita Resign letter, says the reasons for the letter go far beyond the travel.

Cheng, however, does not believe the claims in the letter are factual. She says she has reached out to the seven student leaders and hopes to get into contact soon. Jones does not believe her efforts are sufficient, saying she hopes for Cheng to issue a sincere statement to the entire student body instead of just the seven leaders.
