Phi Gamma Delta hosts the second annual Walk for Waltman, which takes place this Saturday at 11 a.m. at Northern Arizona University’s south quad. The event is to help raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health issues; due to NAU student and Phi Gamma Delta President Ryan Waltman who took his own life last year. Phi Gamma Delta brother Dominic Ryan shares his concern with suicide and “hopes this event can encourage people to break their silence”.
The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity has already raised over ten thousand dollars and hopes they can achieve their goal of fifteen thousand dollars. Even though the walk is a grim topic, the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity will try to make it a positive environment. They welcome people to bring their dogs, feature fun music, and guest speakers from the American Foundation of Suicide prevention.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention. To donate visit afsp.donordrive.com.
