NAU students participated in Sexual Assault Awareness Month by wearing black today. The #HowWeDressDoesNotMeanYes movement is part of the month-long awareness efforts for Sexual Assault education this April.

The movement aims to help stop victim blaming and move away from a common negative narrative, according to Lashae Brown, who says that assault is not something that happens from outfits or behavior despite what many think. Wearing black is a protest against victim-blaming while providing support to victims and promoting the need for consent, practices to be supported year-round emphasized this awareness month.
