Student Reporters, Cassidy Zimarik and April Hettinger, continue their look at what is being done to meet increased demand for mental health services at NAU in the second of their two-part series.

Greek Life Coordinator, Denise Trimblesmith, says NAU is an institution in the business of educating and that the first step that needs to be taken is heightening awareness for the issue of mental health.

NAU Assistant Professor of Practice, April Brown, and her students decided to take on this issue and address the problems head on. Student, Michael Marcum, decided to address the challenge of redesigning the NAU Counseling Services website to make it easier to read and understand from a student's point of view.

Ethics student, Slater Wellington, says a petition being circulated on campus is an effort to show NAU Administrators how important the problem is to the University community. The petition already has over 200 signatures and numbers are continuously rising. To view the petition, visit Change.org and search Northern Arizona University.
