NAU Helps Students Who are Also Parents

NAZ Today reporter, Paige Kenny, gives an overview of life as a student and parent at Northern Arizona University. Kenny says, NAU's Childcare Voucher is a program that was started with a goal to help students that are also parents. Director of Transfer & Online Connections, JJ Boggs, says that each year they receive about $44,000 which is available to award students to help support childcare funds. Boggs, is hopeful that with this voucher it will help students make sure they have a quality education without the worry of quality childcare. NAU graduate student, Michael Shaffer, explains the hardships of balancing his studies, childcare, and finances, in hopes to provide his child with the best childcare possible. With all financial help comes requirements. The following are requirements to be eligible for NAU's Childcare Voucher. One must be a degree seeking student, enrolled in at least 3 credits and be eligible for a federal pell grant.
