As of January 1st, 2018, the City of Flagstaff’s minimum wage is $11. This rate could eventually be pumped up to $15. Cliff Bryson, Labor Standards Manager, states “the Sustainable Wage Act will be on the Flagstaff ballot in November 2018.” If this bill is passed, the City of Flagstaff’s minimum wage will drop back to the State of Arizona minimum wage in 2021.

Heidi Krouger, owner of the Flagstaff General Store, believes “as of today the minimum wage rise has not hurt her store, but in the future it may.” In the future because of the minimum wage increase she may have to cut employees hours, cut some staff and will not hire as many employees.
