Flagstaff Rapist Now Behind Bars!
By Nancy R. Harrison –
After an exhausting investigation, several days of undercover work and dedication from law enforcement all over Northern Arizona, officers yesterday arrested a man for allegedly raping 2 women and assaulting another. Plus, the investigation continues today in yet another sexual assault, police believe he may have committed.
Gregory Woody, Jr is now behind bars in Flagstaff, Ariz. Police say the 22-year-old Native American from Flagstaff is responsible for attacks on January 18; July 13th and July 21st. They also believe he is responsible for a 4th attack on August 8th. So far, DNA evidence on that incident is inconclusive. Meaning he may, or may not be charged in that assault. The victim in that violent sexual assault is expected to look at a lineup today to see if she recognizes the man who attacked her downtown late that night. Check www.naztoday.com for updates!
Meantime, Woody, who lives very close to where the January assault took place, is facing several charges. At this time he’s only been charged in one sexual assault. Detectives say they also expect the Coconino County Attorneys to charge him in the other crimes, and possibly kidnapping as he drove the first victim from downtown to a remote area south of town against her will.
They are also investigating whether he committed rapes in Colorado and Montana.
