Kingman Man Shot Dead Following Argument

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — A Kingman man has been shot to death during an altercation that began over a locked gate.

Mohave County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sandy Edwards says 37-year-old Michael Peter Sessoyeff was shot once in the chest on Monday afternoon at a Kingman home and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Edwards says 53-year-old Robert Keith Alber lived at the house and Sessoyeff was staying in a trailer on the property. Sessoyeff confronted Alber about a locked gate on the property and the dispute turned physical.

Alber told deputies he shot Sessoyeff in self-defense and then called 911 for help. He was not arrested.

Detectives confiscated a 9 mm Glock pistol as evidence. Edwards says the case will be reviewed by county prosecutors.

  1. He was arrested for stolen goods. Micheal was my best friend and did not deserve to die for a stupid locked gate and to no that if he was the one to shoot anyone even if it in self defense he would be in jail for murder i love you and rip micheal
