KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — A sheriff’s deputy in northwest Arizona’s Mohave County arrested a New Mexico man after discovering what appeared to be a methamphetamine lab in the cab of a pickup truck during a traffic stop.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Sandy Edwards says a deputy stopped the Ford Ranger on Tuesday and discovered it had been reported stolen in New Mexico.
The driver was arrested, and while searching the truck the deputy found a bottle of brown liquid and equipment believed to be used to manufacture meth. Edwards says 38-year-old Floyd Anthony Calzada of Farmington admitted the items were for making meth.
A female passenger was also arrested.
Edwards says detectives believe that meth was being made in the cab of the pickup.
