SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say three people died in a collision near the Utah-Arizona border.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the driver of Jeep Cherokee collided head-on with a Suzuki ASX while trying to pass another vehicle.
Troopers say both drivers and a passenger in the Suzuki were killed Saturday on U.S. Highway 89 about 8 miles north of Lake Powell.
The occupants of the Suzuki were traveling to Yuma, Ariz.
The victims’ identities weren’t released pending family notification, and a message left with the Utah Highway Patrol wasn’t immediately returned Sunday.
