FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today)– The Flagstaff Police Department’s 2-week “Click it or Ticket” traffic detail caught more than just seatbelt violations.
Over a 14-day period that ended this past Sunday, Flagstaff PD issued citations to 142 motorists for not wearing a seat belt. In addition to those violations, officers issued nine tickets for child safety seat violations. Other violations that were cited during the increased enforcement included 73 speeding violations, 31 DUI arrests, and 64 “other citations.”
FPD officers also made several arrests besides the DUI arrests. One person was arrested on drug charges, and six fugitives were apprehended, according to statistics released by Flagstaff Police.
The “Click It or Ticket” campaign is an annual partnership between law enforcement agencies across the United States and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that is intended to increase safety awareness among motorists.
