KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Game and Fish Department has cited two people for illegally killing a mule deer last year.
Authorities say the doe was killed with a single shot to the neck on Oct. 25 south of Seligman. Game and Fish officers responded to the scene and collected evidence and interviewed two suspects.
Authorities say 58-year-old Mario Avalos, of Winslow, pleaded guilty to unlawfully taking big game and was fined $1,200. The case against 22-year-old Hugh Campbell of Seligman is pending.
Both men face potential civil sanctions from the Game and Fish Commission of at least $1,500 and the potential to lose hunting and fishing privileges for up to five years.
