GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — Northern Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park is offering college students a chance to volunteer at the park over spring break.
The park is hosting two alternative spring break sessions, March 14-20 and March 28-April 3, under a program sponsored by the Student Conservation Association in partnership with American Eagle Outfitters.
College students will help the staff of the canyon’s Division of Science and Resource Management plant native vegetation in former construction zones near the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, salvage plants before new construction and remove graffiti along two popular trails.
They’ll also have the opportunity to attend presentations about park resources and the National Park Service’s mission and to explore the park on their own.
