The Flagstaff City Council and city staff have been in all-day budget sessions for the last week negotiating a budget for the next fiscal year, which starts July 1st.
All of the departments are facing an eleven percent cut. But for some, like the fire department, those cuts could have a big impact.
NAZ Today’s Patrick Walker has the story:
The eleven percent proposed positions to be cut translate to six firefighters, 4 wildland fuel managers, and one training officer.
The city council will try to finalize the budget by the beginning of May.
