Heavy Snow Closes I-17 Near Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF (AP) — The northbound lanes of I-17 from Stoneman Lake to Flagstaff have reopened.

The roadway was closed earlier Monday because of heavy snow and poor visibility.

Department of Transportation spokesman Rod Wigman says several semitrailers also had jackknifed, halting traffic, and that a number of vehicles slid off the roadway.

The interstate remains snowpacked and icy, and drivers are advised to use caution.
