PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a decomposed body found near Camp Verde.
Hunters came across the partially covered remains Sunday near the Child’s (Irving) Power Plant Campground.
Based on additional information from the county Medical Examiner’s Office, sheriff’s deputies say the remains are those of a man likely in his early 20s between 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5.
They say the man appears to be a homicide victim and died within the past 12 months.
Authorities have released a sketch depicting a tattoo of a narrow, repetitive chain-like pattern that is across the victim’s upper back. The victim also had a rectangular metal belt buckle with a die-cut design that authorities hope will help in the identification.
