FLAGSTAFF (FFD Release)– The City of Flagstaff Fire Department has received a total of $1,725 from Unisource Energy Services for installing high efficiency equipment in its new Fire Stations.
The Fire Department has completed three out of four planned fire stations that are being relocated in order to improve response times to Flagstaff residents and visitors. The rebate award covered equipment such as heaters, water heaters and a boiler used to heat a driveway slab on the north side of one of the new stations.
“The City of Flagstaff is committed to saving money and utilizing energy efficient systems whenever possible,” said Fire Chief Mike Iacona. “This is just one example of implementing the City Council’s direction regarding sustainability in all that we do.”
Gary Barret of Unisource Energy helped coordinate the rebates.
The Fire Department will continue to use energy efficient appliances in all of its future buildings.
