FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today) – Flagstaff Police Department is holding a neighborhood meeting to discuss and answer questions regarding the recent Peeping Tom and child pornography case against Flagstaff resident David Levy Greenberg.
The meeting will be held Friday, Oct. 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Flagstaff Medical Center McGee Auditorium, located at 1200 N. Beaver St.
Greenberg was arrested in August after matching the description given by witnesses of a peeping Tom. When police searched his home, marijuana plants, hundreds of child pornography images and videos along with a liquid anesthetic called isoflurane were found. Greenberg currently has a total of 16 counts against him, 10 of them involving possession of child pornography.
“They come from all walks of life,” Sgt. Michael Terrin of Flagstaff Police Department said. “You’re not going to pick them out. They’re your neighbors or friends.”
According to court documents, Greenberg is a graduate student and worked as a microbiology researcher for NAU. He has been a resident of Flagstaff for 13 years and has no prior arrests. Greenberg pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Flagstaff Police Department has numerous amounts of community outreach programs to identify people such as Greenberg. “Stranger Danger” is one program aimed at helping children take precautions against potentially dangers people.
It is a very controlled atmosphere when handling child pornography cases, said Terrin.
Dave Holyfield, case detective for the Greenberg case, said he has seen other child pornography cases but none such as this one.
“Usually people that acquire these kinds of images tend to trade them,” detective Holyfield said.
Holyfield also said that the police department has not linked anyone else to Greenberg but that Arizona has some of the toughest laws in the country concerning cases such as these.
