PHOENIX, AZ., October 30, 2009 — Coconino County District 2 Supervisor Elizabeth Archuleta has been elected President of the County Supervisors Association of Arizona (CSA).

Archuleta assumed the post on October 29, during CSA’s Annual Legislative Summit which was held in Yuma County.

“I am honored to serve as CSA President and grateful for the confidence and trust of my colleagues around the state,” said Supervisor Archuleta.  “I am eager to build a strong  collaboration among county officials and state legislators so we can work together on addressing the most pressing needs of our constituents.”

CSA Executive Director Craig Sullivan said, “Supervisor Archuleta is an outstanding and respected leader in elected President of the County Supervisors Association of Arizonaelected President of the County Supervisors Association of Arizonaelected President of the County Supervisors Association of Arizonaur organization. She has a proven commitment to promoting efficient,
responsive constituent services.”

Noting that the state is facing a $2 billion budget deficit, Sullivan added, “Her leadership will be critical to ensure that the voice of the county taxpayer is heard as state lawmakers consider proposed budget cuts that could shift millions of dollars in state expenses to the counties.”

Supervisor Archuleta has served on the CSA leadership team for 2 years prior to her election as President.
