House Fire at 2816 Fairview St. in Flagstaff (APSN / Chad Black)
FLAGSTAFF (APSN) By: Chad Black - Thursday night, October 29th Flagstaff Fire Department responded to a house fire at 2816 Fairview St. Upon arrival crews determined there was an active chimney fire that had spread to other parts of the house.
After 30 minutes, crews had the fire under control and an investigator was called to the scene. Damage was contained to two bedrooms. Red Cross assistance was not needed by the family.
The home is uninhabitable at this time, but they will be staying with relatives.
Neighbor Mike Rhodes who resides two houses down had just come home from work when he noticed fire crews responding to his neighbors house.
He saw smoke billowing out from the eves of the house and was concerned the fire would spread to his home and endanger his newborn child and wife. They evacuated their home and waited until fire crews assured them they would be alright.
