The health community assumes everyone has air conditioning. Many of us in Flagstaff don't, including a lot of NAU students. So then, what does one do to be able to breathe? Are there alternatives?

If everyone gets air conditioning - assuming they can afford to do that - the units will increase the heat bubble around Flagstaff and increase power usage during the summer by large factors. Heat bubbles desiccate forests. Global warming is impacted by such decisions. [Refrigeration in general is a big user of energy, contributes to the ozone hole, and pumps heat into the atmosphere. ...details might make a good follow-up story.]
