Cataract Lake County Campground will be closed effective July 1st; Park remains open to day use
Due to budgetary constraints, Coconino County Parks & Recreation announces that the Cataract Lake County Park Campground in Williams, Arizona will be closed effective July 1, 2009. The park will not be staffed with a host, and camping will not be offered.
However, the park will remain open to walk-in day use from dawn to dusk. Garbage and sanitation services will not be provided. Visitors are requested to adopt the “Pack It In; Pack It Out” ethic.
Parks & Recreation director Todd Graeff stated: “The closure of the campground in Cataract Lake County Park is one of the expenditure reduction measures implemented at multiple county parks to stay within our budget during these tough economic times.”
US Forest Service will continue to provide customary services on the other side of the lake. Please call 928-699-1239 for camping reservations at the Forest Service Cataract Lake Campground or call the Williams Visitor Center at 928-635-4061.
