LAS VEGAS (AP) — Tours inside Hoover Dam have been temporarily suspended while repairs are made to the elevator that carries visitors down into the structure.
The Bureau of Reclamation says the tours will be canceled through the weekend and are expected resume Monday morning.
Visitors still have access to the visitor center and the top of the dam.
The bureau says the a routine inspection revealed the need to replace the cable that monitors and controls the elevator’s speed.
