A 19 year old student at NAU has a probable case of the flu. It is not clear at this time whether or not this is a case of H1N1 also known as swine flu. NAU and the Coconino County Health Department are awaiting test results from the Center for Disease Control.
The name nor the gender of the student have been released.
NAU is not changing its normal business schedule for the day, but it is taking measures to monitor the situation. A 24-hour phone bank has been established to answer any questions the public may have about this case. The number is 928-523-0007. A website has also been established to communicate updates to the public.
Residence Life and Dining Services are also taking additional cleaning and sanitation measures in residence halls and public dining areas.
