PHOENIX (AP) — Weather officials are warning Arizonans about high fire danger Sunday.

Red-flag warnings are in effect for much of the state, including Yuma, Nogales, Tucson, Payson, Prescott and Kingman. The warnings will expire at 9 p.m.

A red-flag warning means that high winds and low humidities are creating high fire danger.

The winds also are expected to create driving risks, including blowing dust.

Sustained winds are expected to be between 20 to 40 mph with gusts from 55 to 60 mph.

Strong winds are expected throughout the week, but should be at their strongest on Thursday.
