Scouts BSA Troop 142 at Corner Elementary School now includes girls. The organization known for decades as the Boy Scouts, now calls itself Scouts BSA.

Scoutmaster of Troop 142, Eric Hirning, says the changes allow girls access to more opportunities, particular in outdoor activities such as camping. He says some of the boys are happier about the new troop members than others, but things seem to be working out well.

Troop member, Grace Redling, says she has learned how to tie different kinds of knots, build a fire and lash sticks with rope.

Redling's Brother is also a troop member. Eli Redling says the girls have brought a different perspective.

Troop member, Jason Hughes, says he can see that everyone is having fun in the Troop and it makes him happy. Another member, Emma Hirning, says she is grateful for the new system.
