Flagstaff Raises Minimum Wage to $15 an hour, With Exceptions

Since the start of the new year, the minimum wage in Flagstaff has gone up from $13
to $15 an hour. This increase makes Flagstaff have the highest minimum age in all of
Arizona, but this increase doesn’t apply to everyone.
Tipped employees such as bartenders, waiters and waitresses start at twelve dollars plus tips. NAU is also a big exception, as it’s only required to pay its student workers the federal minimum wage. The federal minimum, $7.25 an hour, hasn't been changed since July 2009.
