RIM ROCK, Ariz. (NAZ Today)– Officials are offering a reward of up to $3,500 for information leading to the arrest of any persons of interest in the case of missing 2-year-old Sylar Newton.
Yavapai Silent Witness is offering $1,000, and the FBI is offering an additional $2,500 cash to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect or suspects involved with Newton’s disappearance. Newton was camping with his biological mother and family at the Beaver Creek Camp Ground north of Camp Verde when he disappeared on July 24th.
Human remains were found in a wash about two miles from the family’s campsite after a nearly two-week search Tuesday afternoon. Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says that it is likely the remains are Sylar’s. ”At this time, the remains are believed to be that of Sylar Newton, but final confirmation is still pending,” said D’Evelyn in a previous news release.
Any information regarding Sylar Newton can be reported to Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.
