TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a Green Valley woman survived two days of frigid temperatures at the bottom of a 300-foot embankment following a rollover crash that killed her husband.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says 59-year-old Mary Elizabeth Dutton is in good condition at University Medical Center.
She was found Thursday afternoon by a state Department of Transportation snow plow driver on U.S. 191 near Safford.
The driver noticed tracks going off the side of the road, pulled over, and heard Dutton screaming from the bottom of a steep embankment.
Authorities say her husband — 63-year-old Jack Albert Dutton — died at the scene.
Investigators have determined the Duttons’ vehicle went off the side of the road Tuesday afternoon and rolled several times down the embankment.
