PHOENIX (AP) – Gov. Jan Brewer has appointed a new budget director to fill a vacancy created when Brewer named Eileen Klein as her new chief of staff.
Brewer announced Friday that John Arnold is stepping down as executive director of the School Facilities Board to become director of the governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting. Arnold has previously served on the budget office’s staff.
Arnold’s replacement as School Facilities Board director is current Deputy Director Dean Gray. The school facilities board administers a state program to pay for school maintenance and upkeep.
Brewer earlier this week announced that longtime Brewer aide Kevin Tyne is stepping down as chief of staff and will join the Republican Governors Association’s staff.
