PHOENIX (AP) — A task force targeting drunken drivers has netted 949 arrests since Aug. 21. The statewide task force Labor Day enforcement ends Monday.
The task force, in a news release Sunday, says 315 people face extreme driving-under-the-influence charges, meaning they had a blood-alcohol content above 0.15.
The task force says 106 people who were arrested have prior convictions. People arrested in the crackdown so far had an average blood-alcohol content of 0.14.
Ninety-two people under the age of 21 also have been arrested. The task force wants Arizonans to be aware of the slogan: “Drive hammered, get nailed.”
