FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today)- A tourist was killed while hiking at the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area on Saturday. The National Park Service received a call that a man had slipped on loose rock at the edge of a cliff and fell approximately 70 feet into shallow water and mud.
The man’s body was found dead two miles upstream in the Escalante River. Officials say that he had suffered a traumatic head injury.
The man was later identified as Robert Hunt, a 49-year-old from St. Peters, Missouri. Hunt was at Glen Canyon hiking with a friend over the weekend.
