Second Arrest Made in Girl Scout Embezzlement Case

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Scottsdale police announced Thursday a second arrest in connection with the theft of $8,000 from a Girl Scout Troop.

Earlier this month, Scottsdale authorities arrested former Girl Scout leader 29-year-old Trisha Proud for allegedly accessing troop funds through withdrawals and checks written for personal use.

Police spokesman Dave Pubins announced Thursday the arrest of 26-year-old Perry Bush for theft and fraud schemes.

Investigators allege Proud cashed checks using Girl Scout proceeds and gave the money to Bush.

Pubins said troop members noticed discrepancies in the account in March and contacted Scottsdale police June 12.
