On the morning of June 23, 2009, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section’s Special Crimes Unit (SCU) served a search warrant at a home in the 3500 block of Mohave Lane, Cottonwood. Detectives previously obtained information from sources that marijuana was being used and sold in this residence.
During the service of the warrant, detectives detained 5 occupants in the home and recovered marijuana totaling one-half pound in weight along with scales, production containers and assorted paraphernalia. Those detained were identified as 20-year-old Brandon Wyrick, 21- year-old Edwin Rivera, 21-year-old Jaycen Coldiron, 19-year-old Roy Zellner, and a 15-year-old female. All occupants are from the Cottonwood area and the majority of them live at this home.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that 21-year-old Rivera had an ongoing sexual relationship with the 15-year-old female who had been detained.
At the conclusion of the on scene investigation, SCU detectives arrested all occupants for a variety of charges. Rivera was charged with Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia, Involving a Minor in a Drug Offense, Possession of a Narcotic Drug and Sexual Conduct with a Minor. Wyrick was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia, Involving a Minor in a Drug Offense and Interfering with Judicial Proceedings for violating probation. Coldiron was charged with Possession and Use of a Narcotic Drug and Marijuana and an outstanding warrant. Zellner was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, Prescription Medication and Use of Marijuana.
The female teenager was charged with Use of Marijuana and is on active probation.
The 4 adult suspects were transported and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center. The female teen was booked at the Prescott Juvenile Detention Center.
